Special thanks to 5axis and machinetek
I just have to give a shout out to 5axis for hooking me up with machinetek who posts here occasionally. Dave has been helping me learn CNC via email to the point that I think I've finally perfected my profession 911 exhaust tool. I'm ablout ready to send the final prototype to John Walker for evaluation and last night I was finishing up the last of the parts when my Z-axis on my CNC Bridgeport jsut quit working. I came home depressed and frustrated trying to figure out how I could afford to pay a tech to fix it on my shoestring budget in time to make parts for Hershey. I got an email from Dave asking how things where going and replied about my problem. After that I laid down and went to bed hours early for me. (I was really depressed). When I got up this morning there was an eamil from Dave suggesting I get in touch with machinetek who happens to own a sweet 911 Cab turbo look and has been a CNC repair tech for over 20 years. I send George (machinetek) an email describing my dilema and got a reply within the hour with his cell number. Well tonight I called George and we spoke for about an hour about my machine and of course P-cars. What a great guy! I won't know for sure until I get the parts installed tommorrow but it seems his first guess was right on the money. I won't go into details but let me tell you George is first class just like Dave, no wonder they are friends. Please extend both of them any courtesy you can, these guys really deserve it. I'll bet between the two of them I saved close to a grand in tech time and I can get parts made for Hershey. Also Dave's tips for CNC programming have made it possible for me to revamp my program for the airfilters I'm working on, I'm hoping to have some of those at Hershey as well. Of course on that front I also owe RoninLB a big thank for his suggestions, measurements and even a PMO gasket. I got stalled on that project figuring the real need was for the exhaust tool and the proper code for the air filters is somewhat complex. I absolutely refuse to rush any of these parts because I'm aiming for high qualitiy stuff. So thank you to Dave for the programing help, George for helping to get my machine back up and running, and to Ron for his commitment to the air filters. The P-car community is indeed something to be amazed at.
