How do I get Yahoo off my homepage?
Somehow Yahoo.com got set as my homepage on IE. When I try to change the home page to something else, Yahoo just pops right back up as the home page. I have deleted all cookies and temporary internet files and exorcised all references to Yahoo in the registry file, but it still keeps coming back. How is Yahoo doing this?

Sounds like you have a browser-hijack virus my friend (cool web, etc.).

Seems strange that yahoo would do that, usally its spam websites that do it. Might want to try this: after you change your homepage on the options be sure to click "apply" first, then "ok".
Also, have you run any spyware/adware removers lately? |
I just installed Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta. It is free and seem to work great, cleaned up a lot of junk .
No I am not affiliated or doesn't own shares in Microsoft bla bla bla. |
MS spyware beta only runs on XP; I have it at work. I use Win ME at home. But I did find the problem. My pop-up blocker (Free Surfer) had "locked" Yahoo as the home page. I am running Spybot and Lavasoft as my spyware detectors, but all they really seem to do is pick out cookies.
