Charleston, SC Pelicans Beware

I'll be visiting your fine city from the 16th through the 18th.

If any of y'all would like to get together for a beer/burger/whatever, reply or PM me.

Not sure what my schedule will be, but I'm there on vac., so it's flexible. Oh, on the 17th, I'll be drinking; just so you know.

JP

Mike -
Where on LI? We Pelicans have got the place pretty much covered. Sayville is about 1/2 way out, on the south shore.

If you'd like to try to get together, get in touch. If you'd like to try to get a few guys together, either put the word out here, or I can get in touch with a few guys. Email: Overpaidslacker at hotmail dot com.

JP,

I was there in Jaunary and had dinner at Coast Bar & Grill. I highly recommend the place, had the Paella, and our server "Sadie" was unbelievable. Perhaps it's my soft spot for girls with accents, or the 2 beers I had, but she made an impression! Wait till you hear her describe the "Hot monkey love" dessert...

There are so many good restaurants in Charleston ... Hops, on the north side, is an excellent brew-pub. You'll never find California Dreamin' without a local guide, but the food is excellent. 82nd Queen also stuck in my mind. Heck, it's tough to lose, with Charleston restaurants.

Charleston's got an excellent cooking school - Johnson & Wales? I'm told this place is second only to the CIA (many of whose alum I've worked with). I guess a lot of Johnson & Wales grads open shop in Charleston so you you've really got to try to go wrong.

Johnson and Wales is in Rhode Island - unless they have another branch there.

It is hard to go wrong with food in Charleston, I have never had a bad meal there.

Thanks for reminding me, I need to book my tickets for next week trip.

There is a more tech term for 180m yr old fossil Great White teeth. The owner of those may have been 150' long.

Various other parts are available, like Mamoth jaws, Revolutionary musket balls, smoking pipes, cannon balls, etc.

I wouldn't consider the diving recreational.
