Cop shoots self in classroom

Seen this? A cop is giving a presentation on gun safety, and accidently shoots himself...

That is absolutely hilarious!!!

Leland Pate 03-25-2005 04:20 PM

That is the laughing stock of the LE community right now. I was told the guy was DEA, but after watching the clip, I tend to believe that joker may not even be a cop at all. The dumbass asked his partner if his gun was clear (that was good) However, he did not specify to his partner that it is imperative to ensure the MAGASINE IS REMOVED from the pistol or you are in trouble (that is bad).

He chambered a round seconds after asking if it was clear... HOW DO YOU DO THAT???

I will give the guy props; if it was a .40cal, he took it like a trooper!

It's only funny because the pumphandle only plugged himself. It would NOT be funny if he had pointed that thing at the crowd.

Can you imagine the field day the anti-gun lobbyists would have if that had been caught on film????

Joeaksa 03-25-2005 04:24 PM

A real professional at work!!! First rule with any firearm is to confirm that its not loaded. Second rule is to treat any firearm as if its loaded. This frigging idiot does neither and is supposed to teach our kids safety???

He is so lucky that some bystander was not hit. Hope it leaves a big scar so people ask him "what happened there" for many years.

The crowd is pretty calm till he asks for a bigger weapon.:D :D :D

Apparently they were not too impressed with his firearm skills.

I thought it was fake until that reaction! :)

Leland Pate 03-25-2005 04:39 PM

You basically have to make TWO, count 'em, 2 fuk-ups at the same time to really make things go bad.

1. put your finger on the trigger

2. Have the weapon pointed at yourself or at another person.

You have to really work hard at this... You can do one or the other and your fine... not smart, but fine. When you manage to do both at the same time you are not fine.

Then he tries to reassure them, "Don't worry, it's an empty weapon!" Classic.

Moses 03-25-2005 04:42 PM

So many great lines; "See! I made a mistake!" (No *****)

speeder 03-25-2005 06:16 PM

That is just freakin' unbelievable!! What on earth was he doing even displaying his weapon to a classroom full of children?? If he killed himself it would have been classic Darwinism, unless of course he has already managed to reproduce. ;) :D

That was pretty funny until a guy in the audience stood up with a kid in his arms and then I thought WTF! He did'nt follow the 4 gun safety rules:
1) All guns are always loaded
2) Never point your muzzle at anything you are not willing to destroy
3) Keep your fingre off the trigger until your sights are aligned with the target and your INTEND to shoot
4) Know your target (what's in front of it, behind it, above it, and below it)
If you violate one rule you may embarass yourself but violate two and you WILL have a negligent discharge. I just investigated one where the idiot cop shot three fellow cops and a firefighter with a shotgun - luckily no one died and surprisingly no one kicked his A** afterwards!

M.D. Holloway 03-25-2005 10:06 PM

Did he shoot his foot or his leg? He sure was limping pretty good. I will say, the crowd didn't flinch - must be from a PS in Watts?

speeder 03-26-2005 12:09 AM

I dunno, I think that if he really shot himself he would have been bleeding all over the place, right?

code7rpd 03-26-2005 01:21 AM

Not neccessarily. Some wounds don't bleed much - it just depends on what the bullet strikes. I've seen gunshot wounds to the head that range from a trickle to a real mess.

VaSteve 03-26-2005 04:14 AM

The best quote is where he says "Now I'll propbably nver be able to show guns again."

Watch for it.

juanbenae 03-26-2005 12:49 PM

my sister sent me that (she's a probation officer) a week or two ago and i could not post it. dam funny!

That’s what I find strange. .40 is loud enough to make an unsuspecting person wearing hearing protection flinch at an indoor gun range. Even a subsonic .22 is pretty deafening indoors without hearing protection.

code7rpd 03-26-2005 03:00 PM

It could have been a place where gunshots are pretty common and not considered 'abnormal'!

azasadny 03-26-2005 06:16 PM

My brother is an Ann Arbor, MI detective and I sent him the link. He said the moron works for the DEA, pretty scary that this imbecile is out "teaching" the kids!
