What specific right is being violated?

And how is that right different than the kid 'killed' in Texas under the law Bush signed, which lets hospitals pull the plug on patients who can't pay?

Unfortunately, today they would probably be labelled "terrorists". The Guard would come in and mow 'em down, round up any survivors, and ship 'em off to Cuba.

True. "Terrorist" is the new "Communist"

"Are you now, or have you ever been, a terrorist?" - rolls right off the tongue...

Thom,

Interesting story and had not heard about it. Consider if this had been allowed to continue?

After being through years of war to return to your home town and find it worse than the countries you liberated, most people would have felt the same way and acted the way that they did. Glad it turned out in a positive way.

Had to laugh though at the statement "the rifles were cleaned and returned to the Armory before morning"... typical GI's, they were taugh well.

U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, regarding the "Definition of the Right to Food," the commission recommended "the right to food and nutrition was a human right."
