stupid lawsuits?
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/latimests/20050327/ts_latimes/delaysowntragiccrossroads
posting this just for consideration If the information is correct, the injury happened on the maiden voyage of a tram designed by avid tinkerers. I would suggest that this is why sometimes code enforcement is a darn good thing. Keeps stupid things from happening. But there are people who don't want government control in their lives at all. Also suggest that this was a wasteful frivolous lawsuit. Reminds me of a case against a Beech Bonanza airplane in 1979 where the jury found for the pilot who had deliberatley flown into inclement weather, against air traffic advice, and exceeded the flight allowables for the plane. Duh, yeah the plane went down. |
