LOL
If she was a liberal, and trashed conservatives... the libs would call her a goddess. But then, they though Michael Moore was wonderful.

dd74 04-13-2005 11:50 PM

Yep, definitely my type of woman...

Wanna' know the oddest thing? In this photo, she looks like any Malibu girl by the beach. Except the beach doesn't have those bottle stalks in the b.g. http://www.anncoulter.org/photos/smile.jpg
She's definitely easy on the eyes.

Quick, Fint! Let's see what The Left's got. Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi. I hear that Hillary Clinton gal's pretty hot...http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/eek3.gif

fintstone 04-14-2005 12:32 AM

You are right, of course. Actually, the best they have for looks...is probably Hanoi Jane.
Strangely, the libs always go after Coulter on looks (certainly not a weak point)...so that is usually where the conservatives have to defend her....they would go after her with ideas...if they had any.

For the third time in this thread, I bring up the unlikely fact that Coulter seems to be the conservative leather-clad dominatrix fantasy.

Honestly, if you get excited (no not that sort of excited) reading her article generalising about how all liberals are incapable of cohesive arguments because some liberals throw pies, then good for you.

But she's still not clever and not funny. Throwing pies however, is definitely not clever, but it is kinda funny, in a classic comedy sort of way.

(edit) And I find it almost impossibly ironic that this woman can handle the mental gymnastics to simultaneously support Shiavo's right to life (despite the fact that whether she was alive or not was, at best, ambiguous) while still being happy to be quoted:

Quote:

"[Since 9/11] I am often asked if I still think we should invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them to Christianity. The answer is: Now more than ever!" — Ann Coulter

lendaddy 04-14-2005 05:02 PM

So you guys on the left are unfamiliar with tongue-in-cheek?

CamB 04-14-2005 06:04 PM

Assuming len that you refer to her comment I quoted above, the sheer weight of bloodthirsty comment coming out of Coulter make it impossible to believe it is tongue in cheek.

If you refer generally to her polemic (sp?) style, then I'd ask the same of all the conservatives who like reading it and think it constitutes valid comment on any given topic ;)

I like small cheeks to grab for my two hands when pounding. I guess it's somehow related?

Your not kidding? You actually think she is serious? Dude you really need to to get out more. She says this stuff to get your goat and it apparently works:)

I think she's funny, but then I guess I know when to laugh.

CamB 04-14-2005 06:23 PM

Sorry man, this is incorrect. Well, mostly. It does get my goat :D. However, she no more writes this stuff for liberals than Michael Moore writes for conservatives.

Go look at her website:

Quote:

Coulter is the legal correspondent for Human Events and writes a popular syndicated column for Universal Press Syndicate. She is a frequent guest on many TV shows, including Hannity and Colmes, Wolf Blitzer Reports, At Large With Geraldo Rivera, Scarborough Country, HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher, The O'Reilly Factor, Good Morning America and has been profiled in numerous publications....
Virtually her entire readership is gonna be conservative.

What she writes is targetted at an audience - you - and if I accidentally read it then she's very happy. Actually, I suspect as long as she gets paid she is very happy. She appears to spend an awful lot of time building Ann Coulter, the brand.

lendaddy 04-14-2005 06:30 PM

Oh well, you just don't get it. She over does it for a reaction, hell she smiles when she says it. Watch some interviews once, she's trying to get the lefty pissed off, that's her MO. It's funny to us, though I can see why not for you:)

Well either that or she really and honestly wants to kill foreign leaders and forcibly convert their populace to Christianity.........yea, that makes more sense:rolleyes:

CamB 04-14-2005 06:49 PM

Maybe I don't get it then - her articles seem to convey a deep-seated lack of respect for liberals and their ideas.

I dunno - read the context of what she said (remembering it was the day after 9/11):

Quote:

Airports scrupulously apply the same laughably ineffective airport harassment to Suzy Chapstick as to Muslim hijackers. It is preposterous to assume every passenger is a potential crazed homicidal maniac. We know who the homicidal maniacs are. They are the ones cheering and dancing right now.

We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war.
There's nothing jokey in there.

Or her being questioned about it:

Quote:

John Hawkins: You've caught a lot of heat for a couple of quotes you made. In your column three days after 9/11, you said, "We know who the homicidal maniacs are. They are the ones cheering and dancing right now. We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity." You also said in an interview with the New York Observer, "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building." Do you stand by those quotes or do you think that perhaps you should have phrased them differently?

Ann Coulter: Ozzy Osbourne has his bats, and I have that darn "convert them to Christianity" quote. (Thank you for giving the full quote. I have the touch, don't I?) Some may not like what I said, but I'm still waiting to hear a better suggestion.

RE: McVeigh quote. Of course I regret it. I should have added, "after everyone had left the building except the editors and reporters."
I stand by it - she is bloodthirsty and, IMHO, not a particularly nice person ;)

dd74 04-14-2005 07:54 PM

Len's got it right, Cam. Coulter is a show, and she knows it. Sure, she gives some fact and argues points, but overall, I believe her to be very intelligent on a ratings-type level. She knows she's good looking (I don't think any guy can disagree with me there), and she has a certain magnetism (certain=she knows she's good looking, once again), and plays it mostly to men. To me, she's entertaining as hell. Her povs are strong, but I look at her in the same way as I look at Al Franken, (whose points of view are also strong); except with Franken, I'm not thinking naughty thoughts about grabbing hold of all that blonde hair. :D

CamB 04-14-2005 08:16 PM

Hey guys - I'm not really disputing that. It just bothers me that because she's (kinda ? supposedly - a bit old!) hot that she gets away with some pretty nasty views (which I don't doubt she generally believes).

And it incites and legitimises similar views amongst her "readers". You don't see me posting crap from MoveOn - for good reason - and that same good reason is why Coulter shouldn't be adored the way she is...

dd74 04-14-2005 09:49 PM

Ah heck, Cam, just turn down the sound and have at it! Forget political diatribe and think MILF. ;)
