Yes, and I think this is why so many folks I've talked to have become more "liberal" over the years. I hear folks suggest that people get more conservative (politically) as they get older, but I don't actually believe that.

I see it the way Steve does. As we become more aware and more educated, we see more options. Our perspective is broadened. And I think this is the essense of the difference in politics and names. "Liberal." "Conservative." In both thinking, and in terminology, I hear Liberal = open to change. Circumspect. I hear Conservative = Narrow, resisting change.

And I think it's true that political affiliation and amount of education are correlated. The more educated you are, the less likely you are to be conservative.

I have always enjoyed (sometimes spewed coffee) when I read conservatives' defense of their position that their orientation is correct, while the overwhelming viewpoint of the education and information (news) organizations of the world are all farked up. I'
m waiting for someone to report that Copenhagen raises IQ.
