Arizona Governor vetoes bill designed to prevent voter fraud

The Arizona governor vetoed a bill requiring all voters to show identification. Once again we revisit a well proven fact...elect a Democrat and find out how little they respect the will/intellect of those who elected them .

I doesn't really matter who shows up at the polls; the real action takes place in the Diebold CPUs.

Considering the idiot we have for a governor, its easy to demonize them! Her distain for the law and any rule or regulation is well known and the state has spent millions on fines to pay for things that she or her state minions have cocked up.

We had a female solder from AZ killed a while back. The governor decides to name a local landmark after her. State and federal law requires a 5 year waiting period. She ramrods it through the process, breaking every rule or law there is on the subject. Legislators do not want to vote against her as it would make them look "unpatriotic" so the name is changed, illegally... and its still in court, making the lawyers rich.

She is trying to keep the "undocumented workers" aka wetbacks, or illegals voting for her...

Requiring positive ID can prohibit some valid voters from voting at all. Blacks in the south are dead against it because it reminds them of the days when they were required to take literacy tests to assure that they weren't....er...a..I mean were able to vote. Elderly do not always have access to the services required to make sure their state issued ID cards are up to date. They may not drive making the need for a driver's license moot. Of course many of those who would be affected by the law histrocally vote liberal. Maybe she had a mandate or some political capital to spend.

I don't mind showing my ID but I can see why historically it is troublesome.

"papers please."

I do not demonize dems...their action do it. It should be clear why I treat their actions with distaste....considering the heinous acts they commit daily...like those I post here. Everything is not just a different shade of gray. Bad is bad, good is good. Wrong is wrong. Evil is evil. It would not matter if 95% of the population were guilty...they would still be guilty.

Respectfully, this is total crap.

You do demonize democrats and liberals (despite what you say in the other thread) - you can't hide behind a belief that you merely report for two reasons:

1) you invariably add an editorial comment in front of it; and

2) you selectively choose what you post ---> this is exactly what you have accused the (supposedly liberal) media of doing in demonizing Bush, etc.

And I really don't think you actually believe that black is black and evil is evil, etc. The fact that there are shades of grey (and the potential for multiple viewpoints on many issues which could be considered "correct") is completely self evident.

How is requiring ID comparable to the 'literacy tests' of the old days? It seems like something else entirely. I guess a corrupt poll staffer could deny someone from voting on the grounds their ID is not 'in order', but any poll staffer that corrupt would pull the same cr*p if ID weren't required anyway.

One does not have to demonize demoncrats...their actions speak much louder than words. If their actions were honestly reported...they would have no support whatsoever.

Yeah, but you can always say "My governor can beat up your governor."

Of course, we can respond with "My governor can sue the ass off your governor."

You're right - it's a draw.

First, Fint, your assertion of objectivity destroys whatever reliability some folks may have had regarding your posts. I'm not trying to be nasty here. The notion that you are objective is laughable. it's hard to imagine that you cannot see your own subjective, very deeply anti-liberal slant, but I'll believe it if you insist.

Second, in the Southern part of my country, there are no real democrats. there are simply tow flavors of republican.

And thirdly, Arizona is going to continue to elect very conservative so-called "leaders" regardless of what else happens. Nearly all of you know that my game is labor relations. It so happens that Arizona is one of only perhaps three states that completely lack any minimum wage statutes. I'm sure it's coincidental that 80% of faces there are brown. Don't worry, Fint. Arizona is completely safe from any current or future forward-thinking public policy.

Unfortunately our other choice during the election was a freak Mormon with 8 billion children, 12 wives, and a penchant for inventing bizarre random stories about the opposition to support his platform.

Live here before making such ridiculous statements. I will equally assert that your statements are fallacious.
