How do I file an extension for my taxes?

Long story, but I'm going to owe a fair amount this year that I will NOT be able to come up with right away. Do I file an extension or file normally witholding payment? I know, I screwed up, tell me something I don't know. So life advice aside, how does this work.

The problem is that the money is due whether you file an extension or not.

Yep, I understand that. I have a side job that will cover it, but I'm not going to be able to get it paid in time. So that aside how does this work?

Thanks Flint, that could work nicely. I really really don't like being broke. In fact I can't recommend it to anyone at this time.:)

Yes I know the feeling. I need to find some type of write-off. Apparently (per my tax bill) I make a lot of money. Why don't I have any?
