You guys like motorcycle racing?
Well, the daddy is motoGP. Race 2 of 17 is Sunday on Speed Channel, 1pm Pacific. Valentino Rossi is the man, perhaps the greatest motorcycle road racer ever. Many believe this is the most exciting racing to be seen. Race 1 was hotly contested, with the exciting final laps here:

That was an amazing finish. It looked like Rossi beat Sete to the apex, but Sete wouldn't back off. There's another, clearer overhead view on the Speedzilla site that makes Sete look like the offender. It'll be fun to watch these two fight it out in upcoming races.
Rossi is amazing, proving his talent on an inferior bike. If he ever leaves MotoGP, I hope he goes to Formula 1. Anything else would be a step down.

Excellent!
My SO got me a MotoGP video ("Faster" I think) that followed the 2001 season and part of 2002. It was a good look into MotoGP and the Rossi-Biaggi rivalry...great DVD! Those guys are amazing! There was some footage of McCoy just smoking and sliding around corners...just poetry! The race doctor put heart monitors on Biaggi and Rosso and the coolness of Rossi was obvious...Biaggi would spike at 170 while Rossi just hit 140 bpm! |

"Faster" is an outstanding movie, rentable now too. And a bonus disc came out afterwards that's worth seeing as well. It has the whole 2003 season plus the first race of 2004 that Rossi won after switching to the Yamaha, and some good shifter kart video, too.

I have not seen all the footage but from what I have seen Rossi was a chump to force his way through. Sete did leave the door open but if he was not there to use as a berm, Rossi would have run WAY wide. Lost some respect for the man.

Boy do I feel for Sete. He had the race and got hammered. Doing this stuff may fly in supercross but I hope it does not become common in road racing. I guess you have to call it a racing incident, but man that hurts to ride so well and have it taken away so very close to the finish.
