Speed channel RIP
Today's proRamming.

Gee, I never did hook into cable or dish. Just too tightass to lay out 30-40 bucks a month forever for anything I don't have to buy. So, you're saying that "Speed Channel" is now all NASCAR all the time? Guess I kept some money to spend on other things over the years...;) (edit) We ALL have the option to do the same. Just put a radio shack antenna on the roof, tell the dish & cable folks to take a hike. You know? The more TV I see, the more I love my stereo...;) Now, if ONLY I could say the same thing to the tax collectors that I say to the cable & satellite TV folks: "Get outahere, I don't need you, and I don't want to buy what you're selling!" :)

Amen, Brother. I was checking the lineup for tonight, just in case something cool was on. NOTHING BUT NASCAR!!!!!
We watched The Incredibles instead. Next week is Imola so Speed should be able to redeem themselves. |
Play "In Car 956" when in doubt.

I feel the same way yet apparently lack the stones to tell the wife and kids that the TV needs to go bye-bye. Daddy needs his lovin' too. ;) |

I can handle skipping the NASCAR, I might even watch some this season simply cause I don't follow ball sports.
But for th elive of me, I cannot understand who wants to sit around and watch driver play POKER!!??!?!?!?!?! They had hollywood celebs doing the same thing on E!. Who'd want to watch anyone play poker? Jeez. |

Its a sad day when a car Auction gets more airtime than The Rolex 24.
Speed unsually shows the F-1 races live at whatever time. I have not checked the listings yet to see when Imola is televised. |
there is no F1 race this weekend...not sure what CBS is showing.
Next weekend Speed won't be so nascar heavy, since San Marino will be on. And MotoGP is on this weekend. Sure, it would be nice if there wasn't so much nascar, but at least they show other stuff still...and I don't see an alternative. |
I'm just happy my TIVO picks up the Supercup and WRC races on Speed once in a while. I don't think any other channel carries them (?).
|
Programmed Tivo for the entire Formula One season, and other than that rarely find anything there to watch. Since it became "the crashcar channel" they have lost me as a regular viewer.
Problem is that there are way too many "good old boys" who like to watch people drive in a circle and run into each other every 3 laps... JoeA |

The following is a quote from Speeds site. I guess it is a good thing that F1 is trying to get more US viewers.
PLEASE NOTE Formula 1 has exercised its option to put four races on broadcast television in 2005. The San Marino, Spanish, Canadian and German Grands Prix will be shown on CBS prior to SPEED's delayed telecasts. http://www.speedtv.com/programs/28/ |
I have actually come to appreciate Nascar a bit since getting the speed channel. But you are right, the non-stop coverage gets old really quick.
Nothing lamer than watching an hour-long talk show ABOUT Nascar. For crying out loud, it's not the super bowl. |
