Give to a good cause?
Not it is not for me
My wife is going to participate in a mini tri. I was going to join her but have some health issues of my own right now. Anyway she is going to Swim, Bike, Run to raise money for "TEAM in training- Finding a cure for Leukemia & Lymphoma". It is a great cause and all funds are tax deductable... at least for USA citizens. Anyway I hope to have given a lot to people here in the way of assistance with their cars over the years. Now lets all give to a great cause. This is still the number one child hood cancer and twice as many adults get it ... not as widely reported. Lets change that. Here is her Info (below). Dear Family and Friends, I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing, however, to share with you an opportunity to “do good”. On August 20th I will join a group of Triathletes from all over New England to participate in the Timberland Triathlon in Gilford, NH. While I am excited to take part in my first triathlon, I am participating for a reason much more important than completing the event. As a member of Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Team in Training”, I will be completing the Triathlon to assist the Society’s efforts to battle leukemia and blood related cancers. Team in Training is a comprehensive endurance training program for athletes of all levels to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I have joined the TEAM to try to increase funding to support the society’s mission while promoting fitness and healthy life styles. Leukemia is the number one killing disease of children, yet it affects ten times as many adults. Both my Grandfather and Uncle have lost their battle with this disease. Each week there are 2,000 new cases of leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma diagnosed. Until the cause for this disease is discovered, the Society remains dedicated to supporting research towards a cure and improving the quality of life of patients and their families. I am asking Family & Friends to join my team and pledge to this great cause. I am trying to reach my goal by June 1st. I will gladly accept donations after this time and will need all the help I can get so please feel free to send me some words of encouragement. I have a website address that will be updated on a weekly basis, where you can donate securely online and where you can check out my progress and see how everything is going. Please see what you can do to help me help others in the past, present and future whom will be affected by leukemia and related cancers. My web address is: (You can donate and track progress there.) www.active.com/donate/tntma/kimberlylynch Thank you for your support. If you would like to mail a check Our address is 427 pendleton ln Londonderry, NH 03053 Oh do not make it out to me or Kimberly Make the check out to "The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society" If you have a friend or family member who has lost their battle with this disease or is fighting this disease please feel welcome to donate in their name. Every donation that is made in someone's name I will carry that persons name with me on my journey. They are the reason that I will complete this Triathlon. Best Wishes, Kimberly Lynch www.active.com/donate/tntma/kimberlylynch Please pass this along to other Family and Friends that you know. The more money that is raised the quicker we hope the cure is found. Thank you
