1950 Willys, worth anything?

My fathers buddy has a '50 Willy's jeep that's in pretty good shape, small amount of rust, etc... The motor (flathead 4?) was rebuilt a 1k miles ago, but is seized. Probably sat forever, you know the drill. I am guessing it would need some bodywork as well but have not seen it myself. Anyway assume you have to redo the motor, would it be worth $1,400? I'm asking for my father, not me. I just knew you guys could ballpark a value. Thanks.

Len,
Is it a CJ-2A ? Those are getting harder and harder to find. Don't just dump it off. Do some checking around www.RockCrawler.com and some other internet sources. I had a '51 when I was 17-21 and it was a blast! I want to get another one of these days.

I have a '47 Willys CJ . It's on it's 4th body. Motor runs great. It finished the first three Jeepers Jamborees in the Desolation Valley.

Still got the '51 Willys pick-up I learned to drive in 31 years ago! They are the best.

Ok, it is the jeep model not the pickup. Does that make it the CJ2A? Or are there even more factors? Thanks guys.

When you say "Jeep" model, do you mean a flat-fender military style, or the station wagon style?

If it is a wagon--the guys at IFSJA can give you an idea.

i had the 46 cj2a, without the power takeoff, nor the optional 1 bottom plow. hauled water with it, but it was not very useful with top speed 45 mph. just used it to practice drunk driving on the farm. now i try to pick up a few suzuki samauris.

My neighbor is heavily into them. Has 6 or so in his yard. Post a pic and I'll ask him what he thinks.

Cars I used to see for $500 are now called "classic" and pulling $20K
Don't know if that jeep qualifies... but it might.

Joel, yes, post a pic, and as much info as you can. There are Willys people everywhere.
