Spoiled student fakes theft of his 2002 BMW M3 to buy Bentley

Read about it here:

http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/04/21/crime.bentley.reut/index.html

A 17-year-old with an M3!!!

What an idiot...who would want a bling-bling Bentley tank over a sweet 2002 BMW M3 anyway? The judge should sentence him to four years of driving an orange Chevette to school.

He's on the path to being a productive citizen, eh?
What a dork! His mother should be charged for being an idiot.

Keep the fking M3.....a Bentley Continental is the way to go....the later ones had BMW 12 cylinders in them...I think the ability to pick up ******* has something to do with his desire....and believe me you get the best and brightest...from all age ranges....I think it has something to do with the smell of money and power....

BTW...any idiot can own a BMW, MB or Porsche..... U don't own a RR or Bentley on a Salary....unless your name is Eisner....

Personally if I had unlimited Bling Bling for a car....and had a chauffer I would own a Ford Crown Victoria....anonymity and understatment....the very rich don't want to draw attention to themselves....

Since buying my M3, I've browsed a couple of M3 forums. What's amazing is the number of really young guys driving these things and the total immaturity they display on these BBS's. I mean it's not the most expensive car in the world, but I don't think I could've come up with $58K in my early 20s for a friggin' car! Of course these guys are probably leasing them and making the payment out of a trust fund ....

Sammamish, WA used to be part of unincorporated King County, sharing Redmond and Issaquah mailing addresses...an area known affectionately (NOT) as "The Plateau". All the richy-riches that live on the plateau decided to become their own city a few years back.

There are no bad areas on the Plateau, all new development. Actually, one of the oldest and most run-down neighborhoods is inside the walls (and guarded gate) of Sahalee Country Club.

So your trust-fund comment is quite accurate.

one more thing. if that snapperhead was so smart in thinking that he oculd pull that off, why wasn't he just a bit smarter to realize that insurance money from an M3 won't even make a substantial down on a Bentley??

He was going to sell the parts off the M3 too...which is probably worth more in parts than as a whole. They were in the process of stripping it when they caught him.

Well there's a contrasting sentence.
("all new development" hardly makes a good area . .. more like; soon to be all "old development" = bad area)

Also, le'Plateau is where KUWTJ Competition is held, every day. (KUWTJ - Keeping Up w/ the Jones')

. . . and why some plateaux-boyee feels the need to "step-up" from a Bimmer to a Bentley.

oh the shame of not have a Bentley.

. . . hey, arent Bentelys made buy VW?

There is no depreciating asset like a Bentlley....a few years old Bentley can be bought for the price of a M3....

I had a friend that bought up on the Plateau in 1995...paid cash for his house....sold it and bought 5 acres in Squim, WA with an ocean view and is going to build his retirment home there....

I think you know what I'm trying to say

Let's just say that there is very little chance our little snapperhead here is from the 'hood.

I'm quite sure he did very well with that purchase.

I'm hoping the insurance company will refuse to pay on the vehicle and the family will be stuck with a car in pieces and a kid in jail!!! Idiots aren't born that way, the parents teach them.

And on that note, the poor eastsider kid would probably commit suicide rather than drive a Chevette to school...

You think i'm kidding? I'm not....

Hey, watch it now...I grew up on the eastside, over 20 years ago though.

Drove a pale yellow w/ faux wood panelling '78 Ford Country Squire station wagon.

Yep, I was the coolest kid at Redmond H.S. (not!)

The article said the 2002 BMW M3 was valued at $47,000??? WTF, a 17 year old gets an expensive car like that from mommy and daddy?

Had a 77 Camaro as my 1st car, and a 69 Camaro as my 2nd car - and thats how I learned how to rebuild 'em.

Spent my senior year on a bus since I couldn't afford parts.
