Get as far away from AOHell as you can. Thats the best advise I can give regarding this POS company and wannabe ISP.

Been a long time, but if he is using AOL's software, his address book should be there no matter what machine he logs in from.
However, given you are asking the question and it sounds like you have already connected the computer... is he using something else on the old computer to do e-mail?? Like Outlook Express or some other e-mail client? There are ways to export/import from most e-mail clients. I agree, get rid of AOL. But if it is something that your Dad-in-law is comfortable with - don't change a thing! |
I've been trying to get my father to switch from AOL for years! He just won't give it up. He keeps telling me about all these "sites" that AOL has, like WebMD and eBay, and a "great web search feature."
It broke his heart when I explained to him that websites like WebMD and google are available to everyone, even though the verbage on AOL commercials would have you believe otherwise. Still though, he will not give it up, because it's what he knows. He says he doesn't want to have to "learn new ways", but in my opinion, he would actually be "un-learning" AOL's ways. Randy |
