vintage sports car dealers in Beverly Hills or Santa Monica area

Hi guys,

If you know of a good place to go and see some neat sports/vintage cars in SM or BH, let me know. I work up here now but I'm new to LA. I'd like to know if there are any places nearby worth seeing at lunch periodically.

Thanks in advance,

Dave

RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY!

Seriously... I'm a Los Angeles native of 48 years and unless you have money to burn stay away from these guys. There are hundreds of high end used car lots around here, just don't expect any bargains.

Then again there are lots of rich spoiled people here that will sell you their car for a song... just because it's last years model or needs a tune up.

Try autotrader.com or recycler.com, heck if you want a Porsche check the Pelican for sale form plenty of S. Cal cars listed there.

Happy hunting,
Scott

Dave,

Go check out the Peterson Automotive Museum on Wilshire. Its not a dealership but they have some really nice classic rides on display.

I'm not looking to buy anything, just for somewhere to while away the lunchtime.

Modena Motorcars (?) on La Cienega is gone. Now a furniture store. Or at least that's the one I think the above post referred to.

There Black on Black/Blackhorse Motors on La Cienega, #1724, south of Pico. Heritage Motorcars in WeHO on Santa Monica. Peterson museum as mentioned. Porche/Ferrari of Beverly Hills, both on Wilshire.

I know some of the crew at Blackhorse and Porche BH, so they are quite nice to me, but some of the other guys are snooty, unless they think you are about to pay top dollar.

If you like bikes, Ducati of Beverly Hills has a nice selection (La Cienega North of Beverly)

grudk - dunno, I'm in Florida. But my grandma's house was right around the corner, used to sit and drool while looking thru the windows. Was still there 4 years ago when I went out last.

Oh, and that one dealership on Wilshire and La Cienega (sp? again!) is really nice, but they have attitude if you don't look like you can afford it. (Got **** 'cause of my long hair, scruffy beard, old concert shirt and jeans when I spent 20 seconds in the AC looking at a 356 that is just like mine "Interested in buying today sir? - No thanks, already got one like it )

Why not eat lunch at the Century City/ Bev Hills Westfield mall?

I hear staring at huge fakes tits on beautiful women is very very good for the digestive system. Ask me how I know....
