Wonderful Liberal Website

This left me totally speechless. What do you say to something like this?

Hello "The page cannot be displayed", how are you doing today?

widebody911 04-28-2005 08:30 AM

How is that a 'liberal' website?

stevepaa 04-28-2005 08:32 AM

well, it is not a liberal view, more like an extreme fiscal conservative libertarian? like one of those "Taxpayers Against XXXX"

juanbenae 04-28-2005 08:44 AM

just another conservative dead end...

dd74 04-28-2005 09:39 AM

I think that the Liberal label was a little tounge in cheek; Jeff?

I did notice that this guy repeats the same little phrases ovver and over... very liberalesque :-)

;) Just seeing who will rise to the bait. It is unfair to label this kind of nonsense as blue or red, even if the left has a long proud history of anti-war and anti-warrior sentiment. This is just too far over the top even for most libs. In all seriousness, I really can't believe anyone really feels this way. I don't know, maybe he does, but it looks to me more like some lame attempt at publicity. Really poor taste, too.

So the contrast is the right has a long proud history of anti-peace and anti-peacemakers?

War is bad versus war is good?

I think I am in good company.

War is bad; I think everyone agrees on that one. Because the right is willing to go to war when necessary does not mean anyone likes it. That's way too simplistic a view for you, stevepaa, and I think you might know better.

I would consider myself pretty much a leftie and I don't think that the solider's get paid enough.

Perhaps this website was done, a little "tongue-in-cheek" too, but to me it seems that "boot-in-ass" is much more appropriate for this a$$-clown "webmaster".

This site wasn't even funny. :(

Jeff,
yes, agree war is sometimes inevitable. I was just reacting to your comment with anti war and anti warrior in the same sentence as if they are linked.

You're right; especially today, that is a tough link to make. I have been nothing but impressed with the anti-war folks continuing support of our troops in spite of their feelings about the war. I'm glad they are finally able, for the most part, to seperate the two. It has not always been that way - Vietnam comes to mind.

In the "about me" section

while in high school, I founded and ran the Unlimited Too Fan Club, which was the first Internet-based fan club for Dutch eurodance group 2 Unlimited

and later on

Another piece of history that I enjoy studying is the story of Laura Ingalls Wilder. I grew up watching the TV show Little House on the Prairie, and had the opportunity to read all of Wilder's books

You just know this guy is saving up for an operation in Thailand....

Tasteless.

The problem is, the right is all too willing to go to war when it's unnecessary...

FrayAdjacent911 04-28-2005 02:29 PM

Sorry, someone who says
Quote:

Number of US soldiers killed in the Iraq War, of their own doing, because they CHOSE to be leeches: 1,568. These scumbags deserved what they got.
deserves an ass kicking. I bet they'd spit on the graves of Vietnam and WWII veterans, too.

Just remember, aside from ending facism, communism, nazism, and evil dictators... WAR NEVER SOLVED ANYTHING.

The problem with that is, how long do you sit on your ass until you decide war is neccessary?

Around 70% in polls opposed going to war in Europe in 1940. Yet look at the sheer evil we were not aware of, that we put an end to. How much safer is the world now? Was war a mistake in 1941?

Could you say now, that if we and the UN backed off of Saddam Hussein, that he would have just been a peachy keen nice guy and given up on dominating his people and region? That he would have just said 'Gee, I don't think I need nukes and chemical weapons' or 'I think I'll hold free elections'?
