Perhaps you should wait a bit before driving...

watch out with the V . i "used" for about 3 weeks after a knee surgery and when i ran out i was looking for a rope and stool. as good as it is now (and oh its good baby!), its 20x as bad when the bottle is empty. better have wife 3 or 5 (forget how many you've caught and released) hide all the sharpe objects, guns, and such so you don't hurt yourself or someone else when you need to start the "dry out". at least your near mexico and can get over the border for mexi pills in a pinch.

now for the good news, i recommend a beer or glass of wine as a chaser. not for the morning dose, but after the lunch, dinner, & evening treats drink up!

by the way, i bet thats from wearing cowboy boots. or did a liberal break your sticks for talking too much?

get well mark, and i hope it only hurts when you're out, as i describe above.

Thanks guys! Unfortunately, I can't drive the 911 for 3 months. :{

The procedure is subtalar arthrodesis. They fused some of the bones and insert a screw to stablize the joint. I had the left done about a year ago. Good news is that I may be able to run again after healing....

I was a runner for ~15 years and wore the cartilage down in both ankles. Bone on bone caused lotsa pain. Also grew dime sized bone spurs at the ankle joint. Doc opened the joint to clean up the mating surfaces and take out spur. He then harvested a piece of bone from shin area. Chiseled a mortise out of 2 ankle bones and inserted harvested fragment from shin . Drilled through 2 ankle bones and inserted 2 screws to stabilize the joint. Takes about 3 months for fusion to happen.

Ouch! I had ACL reconstruction in 2000, after a number of years of volleyball, basketball, etc. I had severed my ACL. They harvested a strip of my patellar tendon, and made a new ACL out of it by attaching it with screws. I couldn't drive the 911 for 2 months or so.
