Eric - Are you doing a frame-up rebuild or a refresh? How long have you had it?

Richard,

Basically a "re-fresh". I bought the bike 3 weeks ago from the original owner--it only has 2,000 miles and hasn't been run since 1982-3. He dropped it once and parked it. Needless to say, the tank is filled with rust--I drained it and have found a shop that specializes in tank-dipping. I cleaned the carbs out, and am in the process of replacing all the fuel/brake lines, and am going to straighten and paint things as I go. It needs a new rear rotor, and 3 turn signals--so far. Once I get it back together and fired up, I will pull the cover again and replace the timing belt. Here are a few more pics:

Don,

I am going to re-paint it the original red, I haven't decided what to do regarding the pinstripes--they are hand painted! Once I get the color on, if I think it looks too "red", I was thinking of getting a Morini decal(which is a stylized eagle/falcon(some type of bird) and put it on the tank sides, or I may just leave it totally de-badged and let folks guess. Last night I took the rest of the tins off, and pulled the speedo for replacement with a US version that came with the bike, but was never installed.

Thanks for the comments guys, I will post more pics as things progress.

Nice find. You could find a sign painter to put the original stripes back on just make sure and take some detailed pictures with measuments before you paint it.
I didnt measure the DP stripes on my car and I wish I would of. Now im looking all over for measurements.
