Is your representative worse than Delay?
 

Looks like Delay is pretty low on the list of folks travelling on lobbyist monry....123rd??? I wonder why our fair, unbiased press makes ot seem like he is the only one?

For the record, Nebraska doesn't claim Chuck Hagel. He's no Republican, and he doesn't represent us.

And, according to that source, he's far worse than Delay.

Your list shows congresspeople who went on privately-funded trips. Delay is in trouble because he went on a lobbyist-paid trip. "Privately-funded" is not the same as "lobbyist-paid". House ethics rules do not prohibit taking privately-funded trips (e.g. trips sponsored by think tanks, non-profit groups, institutions, etc). House rules do explicitly prohibit taking lobbyist-paid trips. Hope that is clear enough?

It looks like he'll run for Gov. If he runs, he'll win, it's pretty much a given. I think he won the third district congressional race here with 85% of the vote. He'll easily take Lincoln and Omaha, so there's not much doubt. I think he'll do a good job.

People don't just pay for Congressmen to take trips....unless they are trying to influence the congressman...regardless if they are registered as a lobbyist or not.

Average cost per trip is sure high though. $20000 to go to the UK wasent British Air running $300 specials not to long ago. $27000 to go to Korea, thats one expensive place to visit. ;) One single stat in itself means absolutly nothing you have to look at the whole picture.

Im sure glad I never returned those calls to Delays office about my being Honored by him maybe he just needed me to foot some of his travel bills.
