Happy Birthday sweet 16

I bought 16, in 2000 as a pressie, it is now may 2005, so its been
just under 5 years that I've had her.

SO lets play a quick competition.

My millage started at around 96k, I use it as a second car, although
for 6 months I used her daily when I was made redudndent.

WHAT MILLAGE DOES SHE SHOW NOW ?

2> 111K
3> 126K

IN the past 5 years this is what's been done

Major work:
1> Clutch change

Services:
twice OPC

Belts:
Checked and tensioned

Tyres (changed):
fronts (twice)
Rear (once)

BODYWORK:
A1, zymol'd no rust

Minor Stuff:
Brake Disc's & Pads fronts and rears, once
Fog light cracked
Battery (OPC)
Changed Fuse Board

Balls ups:
messed up boot lock, OPC repaired
snapped cam cover bolts (3 off)

Mods:
MD changer, Head unit, 6 speaker door panels (ala 968)

Good Sir:

What is "k"?

And by what formulae do we translate that contintental un-hygienic system into the Queens English?

With kindest regards,

Your American Cousins

111,000 miles? Jolly Good!

I was worried that "k" might be referring to that insipid unit known as the “kilometer”.
