It's not a matter of where it was reported, but the validity of the source. I am SURE you've read some of the claims by ex prisoners, some are insane. Are they worthy of automatic print? Sure, go ahead and site them and their stories, but don't report it as confirmed fact. Big difference4 and you know it.

On the other hand, flushing a book down any drain .... does wash (pun; sorry). You assume they flushed the book in one piece and not torn up and deep-sixed chapter-by-chapter? You assume Abu Gharib uses low-flush, environmentally-friendly toilets? or the same kind used in your home? Halliburton/KBR probably provides the best prison camp toilets money can buy (cost plus contract). I know someone who used to sell toilets to the big hotels. They use a brand with huge drains to reduce plumbing costs; can you imagine unplugging toilets in a 1000 room casino/hotel? Maybe it was the Reader's Digest version of the Koran they flushed. Sherwood, you're probably right about being able to flush the Koran down the toilet in pieces. Those hotel toilets sound like a jet engine when you hit the lever.

The original report stated a bucket used for human waste. Somewhere it got translated to 'toilet'. But what could one expect? You guys are the same ones that wrote off the whole Abu Graib incident as a 'fraternity prank'. And yet you sit there with doe-eyed amazement when they want to see Americans dead...

Thom, they want us dead because we are bible thumpers instead of Koran thumpers. Even w/o Abu Graib or the Koran flushing, they would want us dead.
They hate us because we live in nice houses, drive nice cars and have sex with large-breasted, hygienically clean, perfumed women who we may or may not be married to. No one is surprised at what sets off these pricks. It's tragic that they are so wrapped up in their hatred and their all-consuming religeon that they would kill each other over someone's treatment of ink on a page.
