Duc Hunt: close but no cigar! Poor Seller

Unbelievable! I've been looking for a Ducati for some time and finally find something workable and close to home, then the seller turns out to be a bid wad. He calls my cell number that I had in my signature on an e-mail I sent him to ask questions about the bike...I was busy, so I couldn't pick up..he left his number.... I called him back. And nothing...he answers but tells me nothing about the bike....what the hell kinda of seller tells you nothing about the item they are selling. He defers to his ad and doesn't even want to tell me how the engines runs or sounds.

He's owned the bike for two weeks and can't provide documentation on the supposive upgrade that he claims can be proven by a compression test..>WTF...

Sounds too fishy...so I told him good luck. Now I wonder if I should alert the bidders or Ebay...

I've never experienced such a thing when buying or selling anything. I got the impression the bike was stolen or that there is somthing illicit about the sale.

SO! The Duc hunt continues.....

Souk - That bike is the biggest POS Ducati I've ever seen. It would be nothing but trouble for you, and yes, it does sound fishy. Keep looking... BTW, '95 916s are beginning to become collectable. You'll pay around $9k for a good one. Good luck with the search!!!

Thanks Richard. I'm not stuck on the 4-valves or a 916, but that one is close and I don't have to pay 500 bucks to ship a 4000 dollar bike. Oh well..

What is your opinion of a '95 900 SP w/ a 944 kit? Ever ride one?
