Canadian vs Americans foreign policy
Three Canadians sitting in a bar
First Canadian- What do you guys think about the President of the United States, eh? Second Canadian- George Bush is the most evil war mongering anti-Christ ever to draw a breath! Third Canadain- George Bush should be impeached then hung! Three Americans sitting in a bar. First American- What do you guys think about the Prime Minister of Canada? Second American- Who is the Prime Minister of Canada? Third American- What's Canada? "War was invented to teach Americans geography" Flame away Steve

I was actually born in Canada. I spent the first 24 years of my life there. My parents and brother and all extended family still live there. I own a small company with offices in several major Canadian cities and am there on business at least once a month.
What gets me is that no matter where I am in the country whenever I get together with friends or family they spend the whole time debating US policy. They all get quite passionate and emotional about the US and our present leadership. I remind them that if they did notl ive next door to the USA and therefore are provided their national security from the US they might find themselves in a completely different situation. Nationl Healthcare? Besides the fact that it's a joke and doesn't work(we provide our employes with private insurance) but it's easy to have when you spend $1.68CDN on national defense Steve

I liked the thing on The Onion where there was a reference to Canadian Navy, and the US response was that they didn't even know Canada had a Navy.
Unfortunately the reality is that Royal New Zealand Air Force is actually an oxymoron.

Exactly. Strategic policy is not a voter issue. Embedded socialism is the debate.

I think Canada should worry about their own crap before moaning about our crap.
They know that they are secure. If someone were ever to attack or invade Canada, the US would step up and put the smackdown on whoever it was. The same goes for most of the world nowadays. I think everyone else should show a little respect and gratitude.

America would fight anyone invading Canada purely because it is on their border, so I don't know that I hold much stock in that argument.
Respect is mutual. Why should the Canadians respect the US if the US doesn't respect them?

To me, they're a little like a quiet neighbor. An occasional 'hey, how are you', but really not much else. (and yes, if one of my neighbors were assualted, I would do what I can to protect them... not because they are right next to me, but because it would be the right thing to do )

here is a list of Canadian PEACEKEEPERS who have died in service: http://www.members.shaw.ca/kcic3/peacekeepers.html Perhaps you could write their families and belittle them.
Canadians are heavily involved with PEACEKEEPING in Afghanistan. |

Ahhh Canada.
If you were a little green Martian and spent time in New England and then Nova Scotia - and then Vanucouver, BC and then Seattle - and then given a test about what places belongs to what country - you would surely fail.. |

Maybe you guys just need to watch more commercials where the biggest truck just drags the slightly smaller truck out of the way because it's parked in an inconvenient location. We Americans are getting a very clear reputation in the world, and our "because we can" attitude simply sucks. Frankly, I think a great deal of Canada, but then I have a different set of preferences from most of you guys. I'm more impressed with a country that takes care of its people, than a country which clobbers others. You peoples' disdain for societies that prefer peace is disgusting.

Supe - this is for you:
Leaping from tree to tree as they float down the river through BRITISH COLUMBIA... the mighty oak, the wrapping willow, the tall redwood, the lofty Scot's pine... Chorus: He's a lumberjack And he's O.K. He sleeps all night And he works all day. I cut down trees I eat my lunch I go to the lavatory On Wednesdays I go shopping And have buttered scones for tea. Mounties: He cuts down trees He eats his lunch He goes to the lavatory On Wednesdays he goes shopping And has buttered scones for tea. Chorus: He's a lumberjack And he's O.K. He sleeps all night And he works all day. I cut down trees I skip and jump I like to press wild flowers I put on women's clothing And hang around in bars. Mounties: He cuts down trees He skips and jumps He likes to press wild flowers He puts on women's clothing And hangs around in bars? Chorus: He's a lumberjack And he's O.K. He sleeps all night And he works all day. I cut down trees I wear high heels Suspendies and a bra I wish I'd been a girlie Just like my dear pappa. Mounties: He cuts down trees He wears high heels? Suspendies... and a bra? ...He's a lumberjack And he's O K A Y He sleeps all night And he works all day.

I really like Canada and Canadians in general(except creaturecat--but I think of him? as more as a troll than a person, so that doesn't count).
I have been to Canada 5-6 times-- excellent hunting, fishing, and skiing.--and the hookers are hot.
