gloss paint

now I've painted ages ago my doors (HOUSE NOT PORSCHE) in gloss and it has that nice smooth feel.

Recently been doing some painting and the paint is very rough to touch. heres what been happening

1> painting over old gloss, so I key it by sanding
2> using one coat paint (home base)
3> says high gloss non drip quick dry
4> says clean brushes in warm water
5> also says load brush liberally and dont over stpread

so am I doing something wrong. DO I need paint which says "silk"
or "satinwood", is it cheap hombase own make.

I though emulsion cant be cleaned in water

should I get some good paint

also is it really important to load the brush and not over spread

cheers

Ade

SOLVED:

ITS crappy cheap own paint, which is not a proper gloss, kinda an acrylic.

cheers anyway

Sounds like your new paint is latex (water soluble) and your old paint is enamel (need paint thinner to clean brushes). The latex paint will not adhere to enamel paint, hence the problems you are having.
