49k is barely broken in for a Bimmer. Price seems about right for the mileage. Is it a 1100 or an 1150?

Seems like a decent price, but not a great price, Vash. The 1150GSs are excellent bikes!

I see an R1200GS in my future - 'bout two yrs. or so. First year bugs 'n all, you know.

Good luck.

Cliff,

A friend of mine has a BMW bike. Maybe I could arrange a phone call, or if you wanted to come down, I bet he would let you check it out / go for a spin. Maybe, don't want to promise someone else's bike. But at least for the info.....

What happened to the dirt bike idea?
Are you made of money or what ???

:)

If it's such a nice bike, what are you doing behind the HDs?

Here in California, you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a chromosexual, and it's probably worse in SF.

I think you could find one for a similar price without so many miles. Great bikes; get the 1150. Here's an example:

You're gonna hurt yourself. Buy the Yamaha 450 and go off-roading with us. Trees don't jump out in front of you,,,,,Pintos do!

Will race any HD anytime. Rules are the race has to be 2000 miles or more and no maintenance can be done on either bike.

The Harley's are good bikes but a BMW will go forever and are usually so smooth that you do not want to get off. HD riders cannot say the same thing.

They worked out the bugs on the new model engine by 1997 or so. Early bikes has gearbox noise but this one should be trouble free. I had one of these for a while and loved it.

Go for it!

Must be a matter of respect and admiration. Maybe jealousy.

vash 06-15-2005 10:53 AM

in my experience the only HD jealousy is found among other HD folks. "you have more chrome than ME! and where did you find that bandana?". two completely different camps. love em or hate em.

i am looking for a work commuter, because my next project seems to be in pacifica (devil's slide tunnel), and that is a horrible commute. trying to find a lane splitter. on a good note, my office is on the beach, and i am gonna buy a surf casting rod:D

Nah, I just didn't want the ticket.

BlueSkyJaunte 06-15-2005 11:53 AM

When my bobber is done I'm gonna make vash eat his words...no chrome at all...
