Saw the best Batman movie last night
Not the same old **** from Tim Burton, his movies stink. This one's a lot like the comic book; dark, angry, lots of fighting, not campy at all. Great acting for a comic book movie with lots of big name actors. Definitely a must see if you've ever read Batman comics when you were a kid. Looks like another franchise movie has been born.

I always like the Green Lantern & Green Arrow combo - but recently I noticed that the new Green Lantern is African American - the white guy must have passed the torch?

I thought Keaton was a brilliant Wayne/Batman. Yeah, he can do slapstick and deadpan humor like Mr. Mom but he can also do that evil killer in Desparate Measures (w/Andy Garcia). He can be very brooding, intense, and dark when needed. I think Burton failed him, but he still pulled off the character well, for what he had to work with.
Clooney as Batman? Now that really pissed me off.

I loved the first one with Keaton. I guess I don't really know the comic books that well, because the first Burton/Keaton movie seemed just about perfect to me. And the Elfman soundtrack is still worth listening to today.
I didn't like the Kilmer/Clooney ones at all. Can't wait to see this new one.

This one was fantastic in my opinion. I won't give away the movie but they could easily add a sequel and the previous ones won't be a memory. I liked the Keaton one as well but the good old Jack Nicholson had a lot to do with that. Its also strange seeing Gary Oldman playing a good character after seeing him in Leon the Professional and Air Force One as villians.

Flame on!
![]() Here's hoping The Commish does justice to The Thing's character. Keaton was great as Batman, and Nicholson was fantastic as The Joker. Walken was OK as Max Schreck. The only thing worth watching in the Kilmer/Clooney versions were the brief glimpses of the Wayne garage.

Yeah, I saw Batman Begins the other night. I thought it was brilliant - to the point where I want to go see it again, which is pretty rare for me.
I was a little surprised at the cast list... must have cost a few $$$.

Okay, I saw it yesterday, and it was pretty good.
Don't read further if you haven't seen it! I know we're not supposed to be too critical of the plot in action movies, and maybe I'm missing something (and I definitely need a life), but... ...Why did Batman leave the "saving Gotham" part at the end, blowing up the rail lines, to the cop? Meanwhile he went off to fight all the evil henchman. That just didn't make sense to me. It seems like he could have done all the fancy drivin' and rocket launchin' himself, and had a better chance of success. The only reason I'm even wondering about this plot hole is that the rest of the movie flowed so well, and it tried hard to make sense.

DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU"VE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE!!!!!!!
Liam Neesen had his dad killed, no? Or at least the brotherhood had his dad killed. |

Batman begins was, IMHO, the best Batman movie to date. Dark, edgy, imperfect.
I used to read the Batman comic books -- I'd say this movie was closer in look and feel to the Batman -- Legends of the Dark Knight and Batman -- Shadow of the Bat books rather than the Detective Comics and Batman books. Personally, I liked the Legends... and Shadow storylines better. -Z.

Liam Neesen was spouting off about how the brotherhood had tried to rid Gotham before of the scum but idealists like Batman's dad had put things in place to bring everyone together and help each other such as the monorail. I could be wrong about all this. I did have to use the restroom twice during the movie. Pretty exciting plus the extra large drink was going right through me.
