Independence Day

Okay all you righty's and lefty's....put a hold on the bile spewing for a couple of days, relax, take a chill pill, and enjoy another anniversary.

Dave:

Some of these guys forget we are all interested in a better world. The sad part is they want it to be the way they see it and not the way others see it.

Forget the rhetoric and just for one day try a "group hug".

BlueSkyJaunte 07-01-2005 09:27 PM

Traditional Independence Day vegetarian sushi over at my place, if anyone's interested! :D

Moneyguy1 07-01-2005 09:36 PM

Sounds inviting...Tucson ain't that far away.

dafischer 07-01-2005 09:38 PM

Oh, and just to put things in perspective (and probably piss a few people off) George Washington, Paul Revere, and the Minute Men were all "Insurgents"!

Moneyguy1 07-01-2005 09:41 PM

Couldn't resist, could you?

I wonder if the Brits called them "terrorists"?

King George did, though he was also going mad from lead poisoning.

dafischer 07-01-2005 09:49 PM

Nope, couldn't resist. Just a little history lesson, and the rabble rouser in me.

Have a great 4th, all.

Moneyguy1 07-01-2005 09:52 PM

DOn't you wish all threads could be this civil?

dafischer 07-01-2005 09:56 PM

Yes I do, but I'm sure it won't take long for some "patriot" to turn it around.

Moneyguy1 07-01-2005 10:06 PM

Ever notice the word "Patriot" contains the word "riot"?

Sort of like "funeral" contains the word "fun".

...the king suffered from porphyria, a rare genetic disorder which interferes with the body's chemical balance. The symptoms include rashes, abdominal pain, and reddish blue urine, all of which George suffered. Untreated, it can affect the nervous system and lead to insanity. If King George were alive today, he would be treated with drugs and advised to avoid too much sunlight.

See, tcar, these libs just can't help trying to revise history! ;)

And his stoneware didn't help any...

Liberal or not, one thing is true. George lost the colonies, and this George is losing a war. How's that for history, Cap'n? ;)

HardDrive 07-02-2005 05:04 PM

LOL. I have had family in the this country since the 1740s. The ugly truth? They were British symapthizers and were run out of the country during the war. Came back from Canada in the 1850s. Real proud patriotic history :)

Yep, there go those damn liberals again! Saying King George was dying of lead poisoning when it was really porphyria.

How relevant.

dafischer 07-02-2005 09:18 PM

Reddish blue urine sounds like a nice festive touch for the 4th. I'm surprised Martha Stewart didn't think of it first.

DonDavis 07-03-2005 01:18 AM

mmm, Sushi

Milu 07-03-2005 09:17 AM

To all our friends in the colonies:

Happy Homeland Security Day:)

Oh I'm sorry!:o :o :o
You're still calling it by it's old name, Independence day;)
