iPod iTrip
I know most don't like the FM transmitters but for $20 I can't pass. Is it worth $20 vs. the $60-100 for others? I am thinking if I get to use it in rentals and friends cars it will be worth it.

You can use a wired FM modulator, search that term on this board. I don't find that the iTrip works all that well - it isn't terrible, but a wired solution is a lot better.

I hear iTrip works much better outside major metro areas with 50-100 stations on the FM dial.

iTrip works good in every car I've tried... you just have to hold the iPod in a certain position in each car. Gotta find he perfect place, or you get static. Seems clumsy.

Anything is better than the iTrip. At least the one I have is a piece of crap. Not worth $20 even. Even if you can get it to "lock" in a station on the radio, its very difficult to hold once you start driving. Just not worth the frustration. I've tried it in 5-6 different cars with similiar results in all of them.
