				Really Realy Need Help Id'n a Song/Poem

My Dad came across a scrap paper with the following written on it. It was tucked away in a bunch of my late mom's stuff. Anyone recognize this? He was touched by it because it really discribes my mom's mental state when she was first afflicted with dementia and knew what was happening and what was coming.

"Into the blackness of night a mad confusion a state of fright a blazing of flames are the feelings inside burning and torching in the mind that they hide. But why try to show it if they can't comprehend. You need someone to listen - for yourself you must fend - Tis forever a secret that no one will see if you play out the role they expect you to be Sometimes existance is an uphill task but don't reveal anything leave on your mask." Any help?

You might try posting or researching the archives at the Alzheimer's Associaion website, here are a couple of links...I've worked in the AD field on the pharmaceutical side for a few years now, what an aweful disease, I just hope we can start to really do something about it.... I'm sorry for your loss... http://alzheimers.infopop.cc/eve/ubb.x http://www.alz.org/resources/poems.asp#poetry Regards, Adam

Thanks - I am not sure this came from that source. It was hand written but not in my Moms pen. We think she came across it and had someone write it down for her or someone gave it to her. Does a great job of discribing what they feel, but it is also applicable to many other torments - makes for a pretty interesting piece.

At first my Dad thought she wrote it because she was a published poet. When I first saw it I knew it wasn't her pen. Not her style nor her penmenship. She had handwriting like calligraphy, this looked more like a school girl. I was hoping there was a website that would allow me to pop in the peice and it kick out the source.

Have you tried taking it to a librarian? They might be able to help you out.
