Mail is getting closer, but it isn't perfect. That being said, none of the mail clients are. I have tried all of them (including Mailsmith - come on Barebones, why isn't it IMAP yet? PowerMail, Thunderbird, etc), and for me Mail is the best compromise. Entourage is evil...the only reason i have it on my computer is so I can deal with my main work calendar on an exchange server and sync with my Treo.

As for browser, they all have shortcomings. Safari works ok but I think it has a memory leak since it starts to bog down down left open for days/weeks. Some pages don't render correctly (and some forms don't work), but the same goes for Firefox/Camino. As for speed Camino should be a bit snappier due to the rendering engine, but it seems that development has pretty much died on it.
