Awesome...I am sure this has happened before many times! I always wonder about Dyno set right up to the wall of a building...at least this guy had a few feet to shut it down. Scarry

I've had this happen many times on rollers in a car factory I used to work in. It never got any less scary when you would jump up and off the rollers. You are trained and know that your saving grace that there is really very little energy without the car moving. The inertia in the motor and drvietrain itself won't make the reasonably heavy car go very far. Nonetheless it'll scare the *%&^ out of you.

I've always wondered about a chassis dyno positioned at head level. What's the purpose? I suspect the hot rod had a limited slip diff. otherwise, it could have dived off the lift. Different effect.

I agree, build a stage for the crowds to look up too.

That's one lucky little Ford coupe.

Pretty cool.

One little detail is there is no way that thing is anywhere close to 1000 hp let alone 1200.

I don't know, the last car I saw smoke the tires like that on a dyno drum was just under 1000hp.

The straps weren't tight enough on it, you can see the car jump at the beginning of the run, and that was either just putting it into drive....
