...sigh...I really am weary of this. But here goes. I met a bonafide pathological liar online about six odd years ago. She is from Texas. I am in Massachusetts. We dated, she lived with me for a summer before I found out that everything she ever said to me was a lie. I tried to deal with her problem and make it work but it was impossible and we eventually broke up. Boohoo. Sucks to be me.
Anyway, back when we dated, she made it a habit to accuse nearly every man she ever met of some violent or sexual crime - rapes, stalkings, beatings, etc etc ad nauseum. Apparently, this is a pretty common behavior of people with this problem. I had a brief discussion with her step mother about it (six years ago) and her step-mom confirmed that this psycho has been making false accusations of this kind almost since birth. Fast forward to today. Problem is that now I am receiving nasty emails and such from her, her family, and even strangers (as well as some former mutual friends) indicating that she is commonly accusing ME of raping her, beating her almost to death, harrassing, stalking her, and that, as a result, I am confined to a mental hospital. Needless to say, this isn't very much fun and I fear this will eventually get out of hand and have some sort of severe impact on my life. She is not rational. She has been doing it for years (to me and others) and she is escalating and so I am going to put a stop to it. So to this end I 'm gonna need a badass attorney in Dallas to pursue a slander suit seeking damages and (more important) an injunction. Money is pretty much no object as I see her as a very serious threat. So if anyone can recommend the biggest baddest attorney in Dallas, I would genuinely appreciate it. ![]()

Janus, I trust you've reached out to the other receipients of her accusations. Hopefully they documented there situation when they defended themselves.
Wondering if a restraining order is a good first step.

I think I know this girl. :>) I think she used to live in Phoenix. I *almost* stepped into the same pit that you're in...
Whew... Mike

My wife's an attorney (not the kind you need) and we just moved from Dallas. If you want, I could probably have her ask around for recommendations...
PM me if you're interested. - Skip

I definitely feel she is a dangerous person. When I dated her, she claimed her most recent ex was stalking, threatening her etc and she was strongly encouraging ME to go and beat him up etc. The last thing I need is for her latest b/f to show up at my door some night with an ice pick.

Not a lawyer but I would get on record first. File a restraining order. Say she is harrasing you.
As far as slander goes I tried suing someone for liabel/slander. In NY, at the time, in order to sue for liabel/slander you needed to proove that the offendors actions were reckless and that the consequences of their actions caused you to loose income. Can't really take her to court on the presumption that it may hit you in the wallet at some point in the future. You have to wait for it to happen 1st. You need a lawyer, and fast. I had a girlfriend like that, well not nearly as bad but she had "issues" so I know what you are going through. Good Luck and DO NOT have conversations with her privately, if you see her face to face make it a public place with plenty of unbiased witnesses around. Scott Scott

Janus,
I really hope you are not describing a woman who my best friend went out with several years ago. We both lived in Dallas and this woman lied about everything, then when things started going bad (realized he was not going to marry her) the brown material hit the fan. Pls email me at joeaksaATattglobal.net (replace the AT with @) JoeA

Wow. I am surprised at the number of people who have met such similar wingnuts. Since you all have helped me out so much over the years (more times than I can count), maybe I can pay back a little. If you have ever dealth with a pathological liar, check out this forum...
http://www.psychforums.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=123&sid=88638f103e0c41141ebcc039c651a298 I spent a lot of time reading it and learned a lot. Amazing to see how many people from all over the country were almost IDENTICAL to my ex. I'm almost surprised nobody has done a serious study or written a book about it.

This is why I am sooooo glad to be free of that dating scene. Not sure you need a Dallas lawyer - I think you can use one you have local for the Dallas venue.

Shy of witnesses or physical evidence, I doubt very seriously (I haven't seen one yet) this could ever be brought to criminal court. The CP wouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole.
Sorry to hear of your situation. Lee

She wasn't even hot? Man, that sucks. You got hosed all the way around.
I know some people that could make this go away, but it might cost you your 911 then some...

JC- Just out of morbid curiosity, what psyc. ailment do you think this lady suffers from? Or, is it just that she's a nut job?

![]() I have a friend from college who is a bona fide shrink. And he tried to describe her problem to me using words like "narcisistic, delusional, border line, hystrionic" and I stopped him and said, "That sounds like you're throwing every possible disorder in the book at her. Isn't she just a psycho?" and he replied, "Yeah, psycho works."

Janus,
You are describing the woman in Dallas to a "T" again! We have emailed privately and its not the same lady, but this one was not a hottie, just a very nice lady but once her switch got tripped she went off the deep end. Once was at a party with my friend and she cooked off and started screaming at anyone and everyone, then ran out and ran around the neighbourhood screaming. Bill finally found her sitting in a ditch by the side of the road, in a pouring rain, crying and soaking wet. He dropped her home and did not walk, but ran the opposite direction anytime she called again. Cannot wait to see her when she reaches menopause.... JoeA
