Organic (aka paper based) vs. fibreglass shingles

Anyone have an opinion/experience as to the relative merits of one vs the other? I have organic now and was looking at rubber shingles made from recycled tires (thought it would be a nice gesture to have a few bits of S-03 on my garage roof), but they are about triple the price of asphalt. Heck with that.

Roofers and manufacturers seem to be about 50/50 as to whether fibreglass or organic based laminated shingles are the most durable products these days. Prices are about the same too.

I have seen some made of cement... no not cinder blocks, they are thin and light and supposed to last a long time.
Just a though.
