Speeding is patriotic
As you can imagine police overtime in London has increased dramatically recently because of terrorist activity.
To finance it off-duty cops are being sent out on overtime to book speeders to fill the coffers. Cost of cop for the day on o.t. is £250, return: £1,000+ I'd rather they were used to do something constructive like checking for uninsured drivers.

If the people are speeding and the cops are bringing in more than it's costing to send them out... I don't have a problem with it. I mean, they aren't making people speed, for which there is a known monetary consequence.

and any cop will tell you "we don't have quota's"
I hope they don't try that poicy where I live.It is fairly relaxed in my little corner of the world. Since radar detectors are illeagal here they assume nobody has one so the cops leave thier units on all the time easy picking for the ol' Valentine one
