Prehistoric Female Art

So the cavemen were out hunting for a living, and the cavewomen were stay at home moms, right?

So who was more likely to of created the art artifacts we find today?

I was taught that it was men, men made the woman goddess - plump fertile and busty enough to feed many offspring.

Here is a different angle on it - and I mean a different angle.

Stylistic Variability and Choices in Visual Information

http://cmsu2.cmsu.edu/~ldm4683/5.htm

Warning page two has comparisions of carved stone female figures to modern women without their clothes on. I'm going to PM Z-Man just in case this is offensive to anyone. It's all black & white photos, scientific and artistic-like.

Check out the Table of Contents : The earliest prehistoric representations, the so-called Venus figurines, constitute a recognizable stylistic class and are among the most widely known of all Paleolithic objects.

Actually that's a pretty interesting analysis, kach.

It ignores the floor-to-ceiling mirrors that most caves had in those days, though.

That is so funny scottmandude - I found this doctorial thesis by accident looking for a photo of an evolutionary missing link to compare it to that strange woman.

Note: Sexism in science is pretty rapant for our enlightened ones, all of the images I could find were of males evolving from ape to human. No females were in the charts. Either no one wants to look at hairy tits or women skipped the evolutionary process.
