I am not sure how popular the Tour De France and cycling in general is in "the land of the free and the home of the brave" - but Lance Armstrong's seventh consecutive victory in this supremely gruelling event deserves to be properly celebrated by all the Yanks on this forum in particular.

This is a staggering achievement! Much bigger in my view than any of this funny football and baseball stuff you guys are normally so obsessed with.

So raise a glass to this man tonight!

I have not missed any of the last six of his victories (on OLN anyway). The Tour is an event I look forward to every year.

Yup. I'm disappointed by the response. They pretty much ignored me.

This morning on a sports radio station they were intervieving a comedian. They told him they would mention a name and he should respond with the first thing that comes to mind.

Radio host: "Lance Armstrong"

Comedian: "Overrated.'

The laughter was so disruptive the engineers and staff could be heard chuckling in the background for several minutes. Great radio.

He a quitter... taking his ball and going home.
