Check it out wait times for the local DMV are now online! Now I can go when it's not crowded instead of just guessing. |
You can also make online appointments. :D
That's really helpful. Thanks for sharing. |
WTF? Where's my wait time?!?!? http://www.dmv.ca.gov/fo/offices/walnutcreek624.htm

That is cool. I have been lucky, I haven't had to go to the DMV since I got my license which is now 8 years ago. I probably won't even recognize the place. The bad part is I still have my 17 year old picture on my license.

That has been working for about a year now. Very convenient.

NY DMV have this "take a number" thing going the last few years.
Wait times have dropped from an hour to 10 minutes. What they do is assign based on what you need done, so you may get to go before someone that got there before you. It prevents all the counters from getting hit with really long transactions simultaneously. Sorta like slow and fast lanes. If you have 3 lanes of traffic and 3 yahoos going 50 side by side you get traffic. With all the slow guys in one lane and the fast guys in another it does not build volume. Now everyone gets to sit in the waiting area watching TV instead of standing on line getting agitated. Much more civil, about as civil as DMV can get. I have not waited more than 15 minutes in years. |
All times are GMT -8. The time now is 12:29 AM. |
