Subaru tuning options
I have had my heart set on a late 90's Subaru Legacy wagon, not the Outback, but I would like to have some fun with it. ARe there any turbo, suspension, drivetrain upgrades out there? My buddie suggests dropping in a WRX STI engine....as fun as that would be we need to stay realistic.
I have scoured Google and can't even find a Subaru fourm to jump in.

My brother-in-law recently recived his Liberty GT. (i think it's the same as a legacy in america)

Putting a custom turbo on a non-turbo Subaru can be done--I had one in my old 2.5RS. But with junkyard WRXs cheap and plentiful, the aftermarket turbo kits have dried up.
Figure about $8-10k for a WRX drivetrain swap if you have a shop do it for you. Plenty of suspension and brake upgrades available though. |

I am thinking of getting their Stage 2 Power Package as a matter of fact (283 HP). They offer parts for Legacy's. Hope this helps. THere is a forum there, but its not quite as good as NABISCO. Bill |

The ebay engine importers will drop a lowmile WRX engine with turbo and sometime the ECU at your door for under $2K.
