Funny observations

First off my friend commutes Tuesday through Saturday into downtown on the harbor 110 freeway. Due to the fact that there are very few people on the freeway early Saturday morning he is able to cruise at eight zero mph... even to the point of setting the cruise control to eight zero... so I, I mean he was thinking how funny it is in a society of seat belt laws and such that our cruise control on our cars can be set to above the speed limit!

He also made the observation that his car seems to have a magnetic shield when on cruise control because as he approaches other cars on the freeway they seem to increase their speed as he approaches them then once he passes them they drop back to doing their original speed.

Also some time back Los Angeles (or California) passed a law that cell phones can only be used by the operator of an automobile with a hands free device. However daily I see people on the freeway driving with one hand and a cell phone stuck to their head. AND YET it is common to see people walking in the park or on the street waving their hands about and apparently talking to them-selfs until you notice that they have an ear-bud in and a cell phone clipped to their belt.

People are funny.

People are gregarious lot. I'll park my drill rig on the empties of empty parking lot. Go in and get some vittles and go back to rig to eat and listen to radio. Immediatle people start parking around me. Haven't you ever noticed that Freeway traffic occurs in clumps. or how many people have you overtook them fairly rapidly, yet once you start to pass them, they magicaly pace you?

Funny observations: I was out in the garage today listening to a "Best Of" collection from Phil Keaggy, and I realized that I had never ever in my whole entire life heard a "Worst Of" collection. I mean, seriously, let's put this in perspective: If I'm putting together a collection of my photography work for people to look at, it'll definitely be the best of my work. Is it really necessary to label it as such?

Nonsense, humanity.
