Working the Pork Chops LV Style
DTW blew in on the back of a tumbleweed today....and I took it upon myself to aquaint him with the debauched ways of LV....I felt an obligation of sorts to a fellow P Head to wise him up...First on our list of get aquainted vices was how to negioiate with the Hookers to get the best price for services rendered....Second on the list was chea......I mean playing Poker and Dice to your advantage... Aces don't always win if you do it right....and how to keep your head up after you comped 4 or 5 drinks after all you gotta keep up the form....Then DTW and I decided it was time to head off to the Buffet....the Belagio Buffet the King of them all....We first attacked the Split King Crab Legs with Drawn Butter, Smoked Scotish Salmon, and Muscles......they were so good I headed back for a 2nd helping of the Crab this time adding the Ceviche...DTW was still keeping up with me bite for bite and his 2nd time around he found the Sushi Bar....and heaped his plate high....that boy dun me proud....My third trip was theShrimp scampi and Muscles, but by this time I could see that poor DTW wasn't up to the fast ways of LV and he was fadin fast... my fourcth trip was for some Pasta, Prime Rib and Buffalo Sirloin Steak....DTW I could tell was dun in....he was just sittin there with a glazed look in his eyes...but managed a final effort to get desert ...I just don't know how that boy put down 3 full deserts of Creme Brule, Pistaschio mousse and Rasberry Mousse...I down my deserts in a flash and headed back for more...Crem Brule and a heapin helpin of Bread Puddin....it was just another night of workin the Pork Chops at the buffet....U gotta give ole DTW credit he gave his all in tryin to keep up with the Master Buffeter...but in the end Tabby is still the undisputed Master of the Buffet...

All of a sudden my lunchbox at work seems so empty, so mundane...

Having dined with Tabs myself, Dave, I am quite impressed.
I'm getting in on the 26th, flying out on the 1st. Pick a night Tabs, I'll do the best I can.

Please train him a bit more so that he has a chance to redeem himself in the future!
Glad to see that you are helping fellow Pelican's in the ways of the buffet! JoeA

In the end, it is always the carbs that get you. I am a sucker for yummy vinegar sushi rice, with plenty of wasabi and soy, all dressed up with a yummy slab of ahi tuna...mmmmmm, tuna. Then there were delicious california rolls with fresh king crab, none of that pollock fish crab stick garbage...I think I had a token dollop of beef stroganoff (if I have a meal that doesn't include something that mooed, oinked, or clucked, I feel cheated...) just to say I had some beef, but other than that I just gobbled down piles of fish, crab, shrimp and ceviche.
Tabs did outdo me with 5 desserts to my 3...if I had been able to make a brief restroom run to relieve some pressure I could have rallied but alas, the buffet was closing down. No worries...just gives me an excuse to come back. I had considered inviting along my colleague (I'm here on business), but she's a petite blond and I didn't want her to see my dark side... The greatest attraction in Vegas is...TABS. I'm a bit sorry I didn't bring along a camera to get a memento, as Shaun did. To everyone here that thinks they "get" tabs and ESPECIALLY that just dismiss him as a complete nut job...you've all been had. This guy's game is at a level that's 3 moves ahead of everyone else in most cases. In the flesh he's articulate, friendly, witty, and very hospitable. Quite different than you might envision him based on some of his posts. At 6'5" he's a big fella too...but I was just happy to be able to carry a conversation with someone without craning my neck downwards (I'm 6'3" myself). Tabs, thanks for hanging out with me last night. It was very cool to put a face to one of the Pelican personalities. I'll hopefully be in touch this weekend, maybe we can hit the poker tables if work gets done quickly.
