The Incredibles - strictly incredible...

What a movie! What effects! This is even better than Brad Bird's last "The Iron Giant."

It's got everything - story, great characters, and those effects!

Oh, man! This movie better get awards!

Yes, I liked the movie. Didn't take the kid. It was an office outing since we're in the animation business. But she did like "Iron Giant" and this is a bit lighter than that movie. So I'll probably see it again with her.

What blew me away is how much of the animation looked more "real" than the CGI used in live-action movies.

How does the animation compare to Monsters Inc?

IMHO, that's the best animated movie of the current 'generation' of animation. By current gen, I mean computer animated movies that started with Toy Story, and includes Shrek & Shrek 2, Finding Nemo, and Monsters.

If Incredibles is as good (or better) in story line, effects and animation as Monsters Inc, then I gotta check it out!

Hmm....one thing I did notice is that a couple of the "redshirts" (in Star Trek terminology) die. Nothing graphic, explicit, or gratuitous--just big explosions--but the deaths are implied. I was a little surprised given Pixar's previous themes.

Otherwise it's just cartoon violence, IMHO. And Edna rocks.

Lee - I went to the El Capitan in Hollywood: there were very young children there (barely able to see over the seat in front of them), and older. But I think it's one of those ageless movies - again, the only movie I can compare it to is "Iron Giant," though story wise, a theme about superheroes is much more approachable than the Red Scare as in "Iron Giant."

As for the "animation," to me, real animation is hand drawn and hand painted with hand painted backgrounds. Real animation is also strictly fiscally prohibitive these days, especially in the U.S. I actually hate CGI, but it seems CGI had found its footing quite well with "Monsters, Inc." However, IMO, "Monsters, Inc." does not even compare stylistically with "The Incredibles." Part of the reason is character design: in animation, with character design, you're sort of locked into a style that remains a crap shoot for CGI. But the crap shoot paid off with this one; their movements, their mannerisms...everything made complete sense. All of it was believable. I loved the 50s sort of style of everything. It was like: "I remember when my parents had a table and chairs like those, or lived in a track home like that." It was waaayyy cool.

BTW: I think this is the final movie for the Pixar-Disney partnership - Disney's loss by far.

Oh, and for those going to the El Capitan, fork over $15 a ticket, 'cause they also include an organist and a stage show as preludes to the feature.

Dude, that was the funniest damn part of the movie: my favorite character by far. That was Brad Bird's voice, too.

I took 5 kids to the movie. I had no expectations. Great movie. Funny, great story, keeps moving. Nicely animated. Definitely worth seeing.

There were some truely scary moments in the movie too. None of this forced anxiety and confusion nonsense. There were times when I was really on-edge!

Fantastic movie.

I almost never go to the theater because the vast majority of movies are so terrible. I have to concur with the recommendation to see the Incredibles, though -- good characters, great plot, moderate unpredictability. I'd see it again, for sure.

LOL Bryan. The movie was great with awesome effects and graphics. It's boring now that I've seen it at least 5 times at school. One time I saw it in the Spanish version, which was cool.
