Mike,
I am in PGH, and so is Panzer 909 on the 944 board. For how long are you staying? My week is unfortunatley pretty busy(trying to finish my motorcycle before labor day). Whereabouts in PGH are you staying--I can suggest some various bars-depedning upon what type of scene you are looking for. ![]()

I'm at the Crowne Plaza in Coraopolis.
BTW - the resteraunt here offers deep fried cheese cake! Too freaking good...so much for lowering the trigycerides!

I grew up in the Burgh.
Best choices: For a piece of the local culture, stroll down East Carson Street on the South Side of the city, just across the "Mon" river. There are at least 50 bars of all types for you to sample. For ethnic culture, check out The Pennsylvania Brewery, in Deutschtown (the old German village area on the North Side of the city). For sports bars, check out Hi-Tops near the new baseball home, PNC Park. For old school, captain of industry after work drinks kinda place, check out The Carlton in downtown Pittsburgh. If you know anyone that belongs, try to have lunch or dinner at The Duquesne Club. It's an experience, and the club dates back to the times of Andrew Carnegie and his ilk. And, if nothing else, check out the view from Grandview Avenue, on Mt. Washington, at night. It's breathtaking. Stroll to Redbeard's, my favorite bar, just a block down Shiloh street. I used to live on Mt. Washington, and my commute to my old law office was about seven minutes every morning.
