Ouch! Anyone ever think to call out "Mine!"
Why does this happen so often in baseball?

the Johnny Damon/Damien Jackson hit in 2003 was the worst I'd ever seen........ until that one.
|
Very hard to watch. They were both charging full speed, totally focused on making a play. I don't think they could have heard anything at that point. They were both just moving too fast. I hope Cameron has a full recovery.

Could it be the steroids?
Back in the more mellow days of baseball, we had Alfonse-Gaston miscommunication. No harm, no foul. |
This was a horrible collision; they are lucky that neither was killed. Really. :(

I know. . . That one was horrible to watch. Maybe that's why Johnny D. grew the Jesus do after that. . . More hair to protect the noggin. . . Padding.
|
honestly, I think the reason Johnny grew the hair was to "market" himself, to make himself easily identifiable and therefore unique.
Granted, he has had a couple of great years in Boston, but look how much of a household name Damon has become even among non-Red Sox fans. He is a great player to be sure (still leading the AL in AVG and runs), but not household name great. |

Didnt Mickey Mantle's long string of injuries start after Dimagio called him off of a ball like that causing him to fall and wrench a knee?
Tim Raines and Ozzie Guillen was the worst Ive ever seen. Guillen still went on to have an amazing career, but he was never the same after that. |

Dave, you meant to post this pic in the "Measure of a Man" thread, right?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1123900194.jpg
