There's actually a really nice Koi pond at UCLB - maybe worth talking to the facilities guy over there about how they protect it. . .
Several suggested a call to the SPCCA.

My feeling is that the raccoons were in Long Beach before I ever moved there, so let them stay...I can live without koi...;)
As long as they dont touch my Webbers/Zeniths/Fuchs (in my storage shed), then we are okay...

You can make a small grid using mono fishing line ... saw it being used to keep seagulls away from open air resturants in S. Florida. Works good.

I think they are, well they'd better be. I dont care if they dont agree with all of Bush's policies, but damnit, I will not tolerate an un-patriotic raccoon living in my backyard...

Only good against aerial raccoons. Ground-based raccoons would require seperate equipment - probably artillery.

that's a beautiful pond! that must be something to enjoy year-round.

sounds like i will ditch the pond idea and settle for some sort of fire pit area. talked to my friend at work today about his pond and it sounds like more work than i am willing to put into it. i already have enough to do around the house. plus i'd rather spend the time and money on toys or another car.

thanks for helping me make my decision.
