new camera phone....

my old phone died so i picked up one of those fancy camera phones.....
it's an LG 325.
and took some "test" pics of my fish....they don't like it at all :D

so far i'm happy with the phone, and it seems to take decent pics as long as there is decent light (no flash)

what are you guys using for camera phones?

Cool photos Bell. Here's a shot of my Verizon CDM8910 Camera phone:

The only photo I have on-hand. Unfortunatley it only sends the photos this small. This was a Mines Rd. run with the BMW guys when a Dinan BMW 850 flipped on a curve:

Oh, and here's my friends M3 I found on my PC (from my phone):

I've never understood the camera phone phenomenon. Perhaps my background is a little odd -- I'm a film-based photographer from way back. I still do that business with silver-halides like Ansel Adams talks about in The Camera, The Negative, and The Print. I shoot with a 4x5 monorail camera and can produce wall-sized prints with no visible grain. My negatives will withstand the test of time. I keep a bookshelf specifically for my archival binders of film.

The camera phone phenomenon seems to directly counter the film tradition. Nobody ever makes prints from the camera phone. Nobody archives camera phone pictures even to their desktop, let alone to neatly sorted binders on a bookshelf. It's a "shoot, share, discard" philosophy, and I'm just not understanding why it makes sense.

Sorry, that was a rabbit trail...

my camera phone is more for convieniance than anything.....i come across all kinds of wierd/cool stuff and it's an easy way to capture, i do organize all my pics in my computer (from my digital cam as well), usually once a month i'll sit down and organize....until then i just date them when i upload them.
we had an "interesting" truck at the shop today.....kid did all his fiberglass work himself and was fairly original.....just not for me.....neat nonetheless....
