stripped plug on bike

i blew the center plug out of a triple 4 stroke 750cc dohc yamaha. procedure for a dependable fix is??????? do i remove the head ????????????

Only way that I know of is to pull the head. You might be able to repair it but no way without getting far too much metal shavings inside the motor otherwise.

Just plug the hole. That bikes to dangerous and fast anyway.
Should run just fine on the other cylinders.
Don't you have an old mini bike you could have just as much fun on?

i've know of a 944 stripped plug being repaired at the track. I think there is a way to plug the hole so the shavings don't drop in. Or could you turn the bike so that the plug hole faces down?

also had a mechanic tell me to put an oily rag for stickiness in the hole, drill, helicoil, remove rag with hemostats. Just have never done this before. any links to this procedure? When i was on the road, i tried some jbweld type stuff, the quickset, but it lasted about 2 miles. probably did not let it cure for the 30 minutes tho....and surface may not have been optimal clean.

yep. it is at approximately a 45 degree angle out the right side of the head from the middle.

when the tank is on, you can remove the plug out thr right side, with the tank off it is quite accesible. i will send you a pix of a head off ebay
