Smile My new little yellow Duc-ky

I know there's plenty of motorcycle owners here, so I thought I'd share my newest addition to the stables.

It's a 2000 Monster 900i.e. Factory leftover, I bought it with 2 miles on the odometer, with the full factory warranty(1st owner).

I've only ridden it around the neighborhood, trying to get used to it(it's been a really long time since I've ridden), but it's a blast so far.

I did have to make one major change, and other Duc owner's know of this issue. They don't start or even run when on the kickstand, not even in neutral. So I had to add a relay to it, and hook it up so that I can start it on the stand for warming it up. I hooked up the relay to where the bike won't start in gear, and if the bike is put in gear with the stand down, it'll die.

I think exhaust may be my next big change to the bike later on down the road.

Neat, I had the exact same bike (same year, etc.) but in red. I like the yellow a lot, though! 3 miles on a 2000, wow.

Sold it a few months ago with 3000 miles on it. It was a great bike - 100% reliable, always fired right up, no leaks, etc.

Definately needs to have some pipes, an open airbox, and a computer controller (like a Power Commander) to get the fuel injection dialed into the increased flow.

The sound with an open intake and pipes is a huge part of the experience!

I also got rid of the rear fender, and chopped the tail on mine. Chopped tail is kind of a love it/hate it thing amongst Monster owners. I fell firmly into the "love it" category!

Have fun, they are really great bikes.

Yes, I'm thinking of doing this myself. I can't stand that mudflap on the back there.

All in due time though.

I'm also thinking of doing the under engine body cowl, along with the S.i.e. front windshield fairing.
