Plamsa TV DVD mounting

So I bought a 42" Samsung Plasma EDTV. It will be flush mounted on the wall. Now I have to somehow conceal the DVD player and cable box. Does anyone have an idea as to the best way to hide them?

It seems stupid to have a flush TV and then a cabinet to set the boxes on.

I had a cabinate made for the wall below the Plasma Panel. When closed it looks like a low mantle when open it has all the goodies inside it.

I'll try to find a pic of it.

In hindsight I wished I had put the A/V stuff someplace non-conventional. There is no rule that your gear has to be up in fron tof the room. I thought about stashing it over to the side of the room. It would mean running cables to the Panel but the clean look with nothing up there except the panel would be neat.

this is what I did, put the AV in a hall closet, and just the tv and speakers in the room

Mounting in a closet or on a shelf in the room behind the TV (i.e. other side of the wall) is an option that sometimes works. Or you might be able to build in a flush cabinet/shelf depending on the construction of the wall and what's behind it.

In our recent bedroom install, we lucked out as there is a built-in ledge up above the TV and the HD DirecTivo box fits perfectly there.
